The Alabama Learning Exchange is something that is still fairly new. I know when I graduated in 2006, and we did not have it then. ALEX is a way that many more courses can be offered at public schools. It offers web-based courses and also video conferencing. Also you can take courses that blend both web-based and video conferencing.
The ALEX program opens up a whole new world to Alabama students. They can take courses not usually offered in the curriculum. I think it is a wonderful idea because sometimes some students are not challenged by the courses offered. I think this program should grow and be offered in many more schools.
